The HTC One M8 GPE Starts Receiving The Android 6.0 Update

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the latest version of the operating system and already, a number of device users are excited to know when their smartphone or tablet will be updated with the OS. Earlier, a report came in that this latest Android OS version is already running on 0.3 percent of devices. Thankfully, there’s a new smartphone that will be receiving the much-awaited software update—the Google Play Edition of the HTC One M8.

If you own the HTC One M8 GPe, you’ll be pleased to know that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is rolling out to the device pretty soon. Based on a number of posts on the XDA Developer forums, the update for the software on these devices have already started showing up. This is good news, especially since HTC’s VP Mo Versi announced on Twitter that the update had been slightly delayed last week. HTC executives still have not sent an update to the situation and when the update will be rolling out, but based on the posts, there could be reason to believe that the update will arrive in the next few days.

As a matter of fact, one XDA user has already shared the download URL for the update on Google Play Edition HTC One M8. The link, which comes directly from Google’s own servers, is said to have a size of 472MB. This download already includes the new features expected from Marshmallow, among which are the app drawer interface tweaks, improvements to Google Now, a new text selection tool, refreshed app permission settings, battery life improvement through Doze functionality, and many more.


If you’re already using the Google Play Edition HTC One M8 and you’d like to update your device to the latest OS, all it takes is to head over to the Settings app on your device. From there, you can already check if your device is ready to receive the OTA update. If you can’t find it on this area, you can opt to download the OTA file directly from Google and install it on your phone manually. This will enable you to start enjoying all the new features that Marshmallow has been equipped with.

Ned Stark and Arthur Dayne fighting at the Tower of Joy

It’s time to go crazy because we have some amazing news for Game of Thrones fans. The production team has started filming scenes for the Tower of Joy scene and today a videos of the fight were posted online!
The shooting is going on at Castillo de Zafra, which is being used as the Tower of Joy. The video shows Ned Stark and Ser Arthur Dayne fighting outside the Tower of Joy. People weren’t allowed near the venue but that didn’t stop some fans sneaking around and capturing the video of the fighting scene. Take a look at the video that has been shared by Javi Marcos

However, that’s not the only video that was posted. Here’s another video that was shared by Richard Atkinson in which we are able to get a better view of the fight.

In the video we can hear Richard talking about Sean Bean fighting with an unknown person. We are sure that it’s the fight between Ned Stark and Ser Arthur Dayne and in the end we can see another person who comes from the back and stabs Dayne. The person must be Howland Reed as Ned Stak has said that Howland Reed had saved his life from Ser Arthur Dayne.

Game Of Thrones Season 6 Major Spoiler!

We know that earlier last month Kit Harington was in Belfast and he also met a cast member but all that wasn’t in anyway linked to the shooting for Game of Thrones season 6 but now we have some massive news!! Warning: Massive spoilers ahead. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Game of Thrones fan site, Watchers on the Wall has reported that Game of Thrones is filming scenes for a massive battle in Northern Ireland, which will be part of the 9th episode. So the tradition continues and we can expect another awesome 9th episode in season 6.


The battle with involve armies of Umbers, Boltons, wildlings but the major spoiler is that Kit Harington has been spotted at the sets while participating in the shoot along with Iwan Rheon AKA Ramsay Bolton!

So it seems that the theories about Jon Snow being resurrected are true and Jon will be freed from the Night’s Watch oath once he is resurrected and he can take revenge against the Boltons.

Another interesting thing is that we had last seen Rickon and Osha split with Bran and others to meet the Umbers and take refuge with them and considering that the Umbers are a part of this battle, it must be to remove the Boltons from Winterfell and replace them with a Stark.

Nextbit Robin

It's a long (and steep) road ahead, but there's promise in this smartphone startup.

Nextbit is a fresh mobile startup that's already off to a hot start with its first phone, Robin, which raised more than $900,000 on Kickstarter in just its first week of crowdfunding. The phone isn't coming to retail until early in 2016, but we've had an opportunity to get our hands on some pre-production units and see what Robin — and Nextbit as a whole — is all about.
Here's an early look at the hardware it's bringing to market, and a little more on its company strategy as well.
Robin is one of the most interesting looking (and feeling) devices I've had my eyes and hands on in some time. Part of that is the unique "mint" and white color scheme, but this is a very cool device in the darker blue (almost black) color as well — and the color I expect a majority of sales to come in.

Robin looks nothing like the rest of the smartphone industry today, and it's refreshing.

It looks nothing like the rest of the smartphone industry today, but Robin certainly has ties to the look of the solid polycarbonate Nokia phones of yesteryear as well as the color and sharp lines of HTC's Desire phones (Scott Croyle, Nextbit's designer, is formerly of HTC). The phone is flat on all sides without feeling sharp, and it has just a few subtle design flourishes that make it stand out. Dual speakers flank the display, there's a notification LED on the top edge of the phone (so it can be seen even when the phone is face down), and an array of four LEDs on the back plate indicate cloud activity happening in the operating system. Some more subtle additions are a fingerprint sensor in the side power button, and a USB-C port on the bottom for charging.
Robin definitely stands out without trying too hard to be flashy and intense. There aren't any chamfered metal edges, swoopy curves, bits of chrome or superfluous design elements — and I find that incredibly refreshing. It's just a phone, with some very clever design decisions, and one that I'm initially a fan of aesthetically. Reactions from around the Internet have been slightly more mixed to be fair, but I think the overall feeling is positive, as is mine.
On the inside you're getting plenty as well — particularly considering the $399 price. Robin has a Snapdragon 808 processor, ample memory and a decent 32GB of storage, a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 2680 mAh battery, 13MP camera, and a few other little perks like quick charging, NFC and a two-tone camera flash. The internals aren't really the big focus of Robin, and I'm OK with that so long as there's enough inside to power the experience it wants — and it seems like there is.
But Robin isn't just about nice-looking hardware — there's a big software component here as well. Nexbit has some lofty ambitions when it comes to value-adds baked into its build of Lollipop on the phone (and they're already working on Android 6.0 Marshmallow), with the tentpole feature being integration with cloud storage right into the operating system. Though the phone has 32GB of internal storage, you also get access to 100GB of Nextbit cloud storage — included for the life of your device — that will automatically back up your photos, videos and apps.

Seamless cloud backup is something nobody else really does, and it has tons of potential.

But this isn't a "push" kind of system, Robin is always backing up for optimization purposes — meaning if you haven't touched an app in a few months, the app's assets (but you your personal app data) will be seamlessly moved to the cloud to clear up your local storage, and you can quickly recall it and pick up right where you left off (with all of your data and preferences) before. The operating system will also back up full-resolution photos to the cloud and keep device-appropriate sized ones, again to save storage.
And that's just what Nextbit has announced so far. The company has bold ambitions to do even more with the cloud and add entirely new features to Robin before and after launch. Of course what's there now is certainly new and not found anywhere else, but Nextbit feels there's more to be done with this cloud-integrated thinking. There are concerns about battery and network issues when you start doing a lot on the cloud, but it also opens up massive possibilities when you don't tie everything down to just the phone's internal hardware itself.
Beyond the cloud features, this is a relatively familiar Lollipop experience, with some simple changes to the interface — primarily in the launcher and color scheme. Nothing feels foreign to anyone who's used Android before, and you still have full access to the suite of Google apps and anything you want to install from Google Play. Considering the pre-production nature of the devices I had access to I can't make any calls on performance (nor would I want to at this point), but I do appreciate Nextbit's software approach — it seems clean, simple and useful, just like the hardware that carries it.
So much can change from now until Robin starts shipping out to Kickstarter backers early next year, but first impressions have me ready and willing to get a full production device in my hands for real long-term use. There are plenty of other questions about the launch — mostly in the realm of retail sales, the future of the Nextbit itself and customer support in the real world — that need answering. But when evaluating it based on what we know now, purely as a phone, Robin is extremely exciting.

‘The Leftovers’ Showrunner Damon Lindelof Defends HBO’s ‘Game Of Thrones,’ Is A Huge Fan Of ‘Hardhome’ Episode, Highlight Hollywood News

Following news that a couple of his Lost directors will be setting trails in Westeros, HBO’s The Leftovers showrunner stands up for TV’s biggest show, against its few but loud haters.   Damon Lindelof, the executive producer behind Lost and the writer of Promethues and World War Z, is currently busy doing press for Season 2 of The Leftovers, his HBO show. As part of its Fall Preview, Entertainment Weekly sat down with the Lindelof to talk about The Leftovers, but it ended up that he also had a lot of passionate opinions on Game of Thrones, too.

Lindelof was a fan of the books before the show ever aired, but he only got through the first three—A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, and A Storm of Swords—before stopping, because he wanted the chance to experience the show’s many surprises unspoiled.

Hardhome Is North Of The Wall

“I felt that rush of book reader’s superiority— “I knew that it was going to happen and nobody else did.” But it was also intermingled with jealousy for the people who did experience it first onscreen. That’s where I stopped reading the books. ”

Adding now, that “reader’s superiority” is all gone, and equality in not knowing what is coming up next is a good thing.   Things really reached a point of no return in “Hardhome,” a Season 5 episode that Lindelof had a lot of praise for.

I just sat there with my mouth hanging open. I’m literally watching five minutes of silence—that whole moment where Jon Snow is going off into the water and looking at The Night’s King and he’s doing his “Come at me, bro” moment. And I was just like: “There’s nothing better on television, right now, than this.”

Lindelof also said that, in order to have excellent episodes like “Hardhome,” it may be necessary to have episodes that are mainly setup, or even ones that “make [the viewer] go, “I don’t know, I don’t know about this…”

And what about the silly feminist blogger site that claimed they would no longer watch the show because of the incident following Sansa’s wedding?  Personally I thought what a load of hot hair, Damon felt similarly.  “No, you’re not. Don’t be an ass.” That’s like my 8-year-old saying, “We’re not best friends anymore.” When I see a blogger—thank God I’m not on Twitter anymore, because I get into all sorts of trouble—or a critic, or a recapper say, “I’m done with your show,” if I were running that show I would call them up and say, “You are not allowed to watch my show anymore. I’m going to f–king alert everybody in your life to watch you. I’m going to hire a private eye to tap your media consumption, and you better not ever watch it again. Are you sure you want to do this?”

George R.R. Martin Finally Accepts 'GoT' Will End Before The Books

You don't need to be the three-eyed raven to see that HBO's "Game of Thrones" is basically racing toward the end of George R.R. Martin's story. Now, the Song of Ice and Fire author has finally accepted the inevitable.
"Anything is possible,” said the author when GeekWire asked what he thought about the show possibly finishing before the books in a recent Q&A at the Sasquan science fiction convention in Spokane, Washington. Martin acknowledged the show seems to be speeding through the story like "a jet locomotive," and though he used to worry about it getting to the end before him, he's not even about that life anymore.

I said, to hell with that. Worrying about it isn’t going to change it one way or another. I still sit down at the typewriter, and I have to write the next scene and the next sentence … I’m just going to tell my story, and they’re telling their story and adapting my books, and we shall see.

Unless Martin is planning some kind of upcoming secret dual release for the next two books in the series, The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring (wow, please let that happen), there's pretty much no way the show won't surpass the author. Season 5 of "GoT" basically caught up to the point where Martin is at in his novels, and it has already been about four years since Martin released his last book in the series. Unless the show takes some sort of crazy hiatus, the end is coming.
Fans should look on the bright side, though. (The Lord of Light will never steer you wrong.) Due to changes in the HBO adaptation, showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have already admitted the ending might not match up exactly with Martin's.
Try to take that as meaning "more surprises are on the way" in the novels. And don't worry. HBO will definitely treat Martin's books right. You know--hopefully.

The Finalized Spanish Filming Dates for Season 6

Filming in Spain is drawing ever closer. La Voz de Almeria reports that workers are constructing tents in the area of El Chorrillo Sierra Alhamilla in Pechina, as the set pieces are readied for action.

Meanwhile, with only two weeks to go, Los Siete Reinos has done their research and has the full battery of dates and times for filming in all the different Spanish locations that we know so far. Some of these we knew already from the dates listed for the hopeful extras who tried out for a spot in the production last month. Some are new. Let’s run them down.

• Girona: September 3-18th. This we already knew from the casting calls. The big news is that LSR states that Girona is confirmed to be standing in not only for Braavos, but also for King’s Landing. Sorry Dubrovnik. Looks like you guys really are losing out this year.
• Castell de Santa Florentina, in Barcelona: September 9-22nd. This is one of the later areas that was confirmed for filming after the extra casting dates were over. This one is a major deal, because it’s a huge old castle. Also, note that the majority of the filming dates overlap with the Girona filming, which suggests that the cast who will be filming here are a completely separate unit than those filming in Girona. Also, there are no extras cast for this area, so whatever is happening here is completely self contained, cast wise. LSR has said they are in contact with the staff and hope to have more updates soon on what this area will be used for.
• Navarra: September 20-25th. This is another one we knew from the extra casting. There’s only five days of filming in this desert landscape, with an extra casting call requirement list that suggested Dothraki types. This will almost certainly involve Dany’s new Khalasar.
• Castillo de Zafra (Campillo de Dueñas, Guadalajara): September 28-30th. The Tower of Joy. I think I just freaked out from excitement just typing that. This all-important flashback scene will film over the last three days in September, with no overlapping with other locations. LSR points out that much of the actual scene probably won’t be filmed there—it’ll just be used for exterior shots and scenes. BUT STILL. *freaks out some more*
• Peñíscola (Castellón): October 1-9th. This is the third location we knew about from the extra casting. We’re not sure what this location stands in for, but the extra descriptions most certainly make is an Essos one. This is also the location where the casting call specifically for infants was for.
• Almería: October 10-23rd. The final shooting dates for Spain will happen in the area of Almería. This is also suggested to be Essos area, with the casting call for dark skinned types, suggesting this could be another area of Dothraki filming. Whatever it is, they’re going to be there for most of the month, so there’s going to be a lot of this area featured next season.

UK court orders Google to remove 'right to be forgotten' news stories

Google and European regulators have once again locked horns with regards to the "right to be forgotten" ruling, with a UK court issuing an order to the search giant for the removal of links to stories discussing the controversial ruling.
Even though Google is obligated to removes certain links about a person's misdemeanors under the "right to be forgotten" ruling (should the information be deemed "irrelevant or outdated"), any news articles that mention the individual's name and previous actions will surface when searching for the original complainant's name.
That is the crux of the latest court order from the UK's Information Commissioner's Office, which ordered Google to remove nine links that reference a specific person's minor crime. Although the links to the results detailing the minor offense were removed from Google, news stories covering the ruling and the subsequent removal of the links were discoverable by searching for the person's name, which the UK court says undermines the "right to be forgotten" ruling.
From ICO deputy commissioner David Smith:

We understand that links being removed as a result of this court ruling is something that newspapers want to write about. And we understand that people need to be able to find these stories through search engines like Google. But that does not need them to be revealed when searching on the original complainant's name.
The European court ruling last year was clear that links prompted by searching on an individual's name are subject to data protection rules. That means they shouldn't include personal information that is no longer relevant.

Previously, Google refused to remove links to the news stories, stating that censorship of content is a "matter of significant public importance." With the ICO giving the search giant 35 days to comply with its order, it remains to be seen if Google changes its stance in this scenario.

This got tucked into our larger post on how to take a screenshot on the Galaxy Note 5, but it's cool enough that it deserves a mention of its own. Using the "Screen write" function of Samsung's new software, you can do a "Scroll capture" of whatever you've got on your screen. Want to share an entire web page or vertically scrolling app? Not a problem. It takes just a few taps, and Samsung does a really nice job of stitching it all together for you.
Check it out.

To take a scrolling screenshot or scroll capture on the Note 5:

1. Open the content you wish to take a scrolling screenshot of.
2. Take out the S Pen to launch Air Command, tap on Screen Write.
3. The screen will flash and capture a single screenshot, then press Scroll capture in the bottom-left corner.
4. The screen will scroll, and you can select Capture more to keep going, or Done to stop.
5. Once you've captured everything, tap Share, Save in Gallery or Save in Scrapbook at the bottom of the screen.

Marshmallow era

Here's what you need to know — and what you'll have to continue waiting for — now that the next version of Android is officially official and full of Marshmallowy goodness.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow today is official. Or, rather, it's the start of being official, as these things don't actually happen all at once. In fact, the M era started back at the Google I/O developer conference in late May. And we don't yet have it all.
So here's what you need to know about the next major version of our favorite operating system. This is Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

This is great! Where can I download Android 6.0 Marshmallow?!?!?

You can't! Sort of. While we have a name and a new version number and a new SDK, Google hasn't yet made the source code available. And technically that's what both manufacturers and the custom-ROM crowd need to make proper builds for our phones. That said, we'll definitely start to see ROMs cobbled together from SDK parts. That's par for the course.
More official is that we've got a third and final developer preview that can be flashed to the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player. It's not 100 percent of what you'll get when the finished version of Marshmallow is released, but it's closer than anything we've had before.

OK, fine. So when will I get Marshmallow? (And will my phone get it?)

Depends on which phone you have. Google's Nexus phones should be the first to be updated. In addition to the devices that have been a part of the developer preview, expect at least the Nexus 7 (2013) to see an update, and possibly the 2012 model as well. Throw the Nexus 10 tablet and Nexus 4 phone into the "maybe" list, too.
As for when we'll see source code drop and updates begin? We don't actually know. Remember that we're expecting at least one (and very likely two) new Nexus phone this year. And if we had to guess, we'd be willing to put a little money on it being a little sooner than last year. Before October wouldn't surprise us at all at this point, but that's still just a guess.
Have some other phone? It'll take longer. Exactly how long is a big of a mystery. Some manufacturers like to impose 90-day deadlines on themselves, which probably will mean something toward the end of the year, if not later. Updates are hard, and it's a slow process. And there's upwards of a billion Android devices out there. Put it this way — only 18 percent of all active devices are on Android 5.x Lollipop, which was released about 10 months ago.

Jeez. OK. So what is it, exactly, that I'll have to look forward to in Marshmallow?

That depends! (Welcome to the wonderful world of Android!) If you didn't get the gist by now, Android manufacturers still do whatever the hell they want (more or less — and Google's been reining them in a little bit) with their phones. And they also go above and beyond what's in the base Android code. But Google itself has also adopted a good number of features that have until now been custom jobs, so we'll see more features on more phones.
Here's the short version, though:

• Permissions are getting a huge revamp. The technical term is "runtime permissions," and it means that instead of just accepting every permission an app declares at the time you install it you'll now be able to pick and choose what things an application has access to. Don't want, say, Facebook to see your internal contacts? Just turn that permission off! That's oversimplified, of course. You can learn more about it here.
• Google Now on Tap will give Google — with your permission, of course — even more insight into your life. If you're, say, texting someone about dinner plans at some hot new restaurant, a quick press of the home button will bring up more information about that restaurant. No more having to hop out of one app and into another to look up information. This is going to be big.
• Android Pay will finally become a thing, bringing the same sort of contactless payments you know from Apple Pay and the newer Samsung Pay. This will be built into the system and will also make use of ...
• Native fingerprint authorization will now be built into the Android source code. That'll allow more manufacturers to make use of it — and hopefully will make it even better than it's already become. Samsung and Huawei are the longtime fingerprint users for Android, but HTC, OnePlus and, soon, LG have or will make use of it.
• Automatic app data backups will occur by default. That means no more losing your spot in a game if you switch devices. They'll happen once a day, when you're not using your phone and only when you're connected to Wifi.
• Smarter app links so you won't have to deal with that clunky "do you want to open this thing in this other app* dialog as much.
• Plus, more tweaks for better battery life, tons of stuff for developers, and a more consistent user experience. (Again, that last one is subject to being blown up by the manufacturers.)

‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Kit Harington Was Probably In Belfast To Film Jon Snow’s Funeral

Since the events of this year’s season finale, Game of Thrones fans have been holding out hope that Jon Snow would somehow return next season. Now, however, it looks as though those rumors have been squashed thanks to some photos taken by fans near the set of HBO’s hit fantasy series in Belfast, Ireland.

The pictures in question, originally uploaded to Watchers on the Wall, depict a burning Castle Black which only serves to cement the idea that actor Kit Harington may in fact simply be in Belfast to film Jon’s funeral.



Harington’s arrival in Northern Ireland earlier this month lead many Thrones fans to believe that there was a possibility Jon could have somehow survived the multiple stab wounds he suffered at the end of season five, despite the fact that HBO’s programming president recently went on the record as saying “Dead is dead is dead.”

Given these new photos however, it looks as though the theory that Jon may be coming back somehow — be it as a member of the undead, or as a soul revived by Melisandre — is starting to lose its steam.


Guess we’ll all just have to wait for season six to find out what Jon Snow’s fate truly is.

Young Ned cast, sources report!

Flashbacks are coming!

According to reliable sources, the part of young Ned Stark in Game of Thrones season 6 has been cast. Stepping into the role made famous on the show by Sean Bean will be 13-year-old English actor Sebastian Croft.

An experienced theatre actor, Croft has appeared in London West End productions of Matilda and Les Miserables, and played young Martius in Coriolanus at the Donmar Warehouse. He starred as Oliver in a UK national tour of Oliver! and this year, played the title role in the new musical version of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ at the Leicester Curve.

Fans first became aware of the possibility of seeing a child Ned in late May, when the casting breakdowns for Game of Thrones season 6 surfaced. The call for a young boy with brown hair, a narrow face, green eyes, and the use of a Northern accent was a good indicator. The boy would be sparring with an older child in their scene.

HBO Suggests Game of Thrones to Have Eight Seasons

Seven hells! Game of Thrones is going to have eight seasons! George R.R. Martin may be writing a seven-book series about the world of Westeros– a land with seven gods and seven kingdoms, but the show Game of Thrones will now have eight or more seasons.  The news was broken by the HBO President President Michael Lombardo who made the announcement at Television Critics Association.  At least another season more than we have anticipated is exciting news for everyone reluctant to see Game of Thrones leave their screens for good. While Game of Thrones writers D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have often suggested that they planned to write seven seasons, they seem to have changed their mind (or HBO changed their minds for them). The HBO president hinted that there might be even more seasons after the eighth season but that it was up to the writers who

“feel like there’s two more years after six. I would always love for them to change their minds, but that’s what we’re looking at right now.” 

 As if this news wasn’t thrilling enough, Lombardo also suggested that Game of Thrones prequelsare in the works, which leaves a large variety of options open. George R.R. Martin’s world is abundant with backstories, leaving one to wonder if HBO will adapt more recent events to the screen, such as Robert’s Rebellion, or go into the more distant past with Dunk and Egg, two character George R.R. Martin has featured in several short stories which take place before current events in Westeros. Maybe we should all calm down. We don’t even have a Game of Thrones season 6 premiere date yet!

No matter what eventually is adapted by HBO, one thing is certain–rabid fans are guaranteed to eat it up. Lombardo, wasn’t all good news, though, as he went on to answer whether Jon Snow was really dead. 

“He be dead. Um, yes. Everything I’ve seen, heard and read, Jon Snow is indeed dead,” Lombardo said.

However, fans should not get too down in the mouth. Being dead not necessarily mean you can’t be resurrected, and with a whole extra Game of Thrones season in the works, HBO has plenty of time to explore Jon Snow’s options regarding mortality. We don’t even know who his parents are yet! Do we?

HORNET is New Tor-like Browser

The Deep Web is a place that is hidden from the ordinary world because the browsers used to access the Deep Web, continuously encrypt user data. Due to this constant data encryption, the browsing speeds are slow. Our beloved Tor network has more than 2 million daily users that slow down its performance. To counter this speed issue, five researchers have developed a new Tor-style anonymity network called HORNET: High-Speed Onion Routing at Network Layer.  

Compared to anonymity networks like Tor, the HORNET system is more resistant to attacks and it delivers faster node speeds. The researcher team writes, “unlike other onion routing implementations, HORNET routers do not keep per-flow state or perform computationally expensive operations for data forwarding, allowing the system to scale as new clients are added.”

This paper “Hornet: High-Speed Onion Routing at Network Layer” was written by researchers Chen Chen of Carnegie Mellon University, along with David Barrera, Enrico Asoni, and Adrian Perrig of Zurich’s Federal Institute of Technology, and George Danezis from University College of London. Here’s the research paper.

To achieve speeds higher than Tor, HORNET doesn’t encrypt data as often- instead it encrypts just the personal stuff. In Tor, anonymity comes at the price of speed. To provide anonymity, Tor takes data and passes it through series of computers before the final destination. Each time, it passes from one computer to the other, the encryption exists and IP addresses change. Thus, it forms a time-taking multilayer network (hence “The Onion Router”).

HORNET nodes process the anonymous traffic at more than 93Gb/s speed.

The basic architecture of Tor and HORNET is same(onion routing). HORNET creates an encryption key set along with the routing info (connection state) on your system. Thus, the intermediate nodes don’t need to build this information each time, as these keys and connection state info is carried within packet headers (anonymous header or AHDR).

According to the research paper, it makes the whole system more secure as the other intermediate computers don’t waste time playing with the senders and receiver’s packets. Thus, the whole process becomes more fast and secure.

It is worth mentioning that HORNET is not yet tested at a large scale, it’s just these 5 researchers. Thus, extensive peer review is needed to adopt systems like HORNET.

The HTC One M8 Will NOT Get An Android Lollipop 5.1.1 Update

The Bad News: The HTC One M8 WILL NOT get an Android Lollipop 5.1.1 update.

The Good News: It’s going to update straight to the Android M.

In spite of the fact that the HTC One M8 is considered an old-generation model, it looks like it’s getting the Android M treatment ahead of the pack. While such a jump in the update “generation” is reserved only for current-generation flagship models, it’s definitely great news for HTC One M8 users.

Currently, HTC’s flagship models are HTC One M9 and the HTC One M9+. It would have been expected to see these two models get the Android M treatment first, but in a surprise move, HTC apparently included the HTC One M8.

Aside from the other great features about the Android M already discussed in previous articles, two features stand out for the Android M that’s rolling out on HTC’s: “Doze,” and the feature where a user can delete all previously-used connections, including Bluetooth.

In reviews of the HTC One M8, users have complained about the Bluetooth connectivity bug. One of the possible fixes for it would be to clear all the previous connections used. This new feature on the Android M may address that HTC One M8 flaw.

On the other hand, the HTC One M8 is also plagued with a non-removable 2600 mAh Li-Po battery. This means that the user can’t swap batteries if it drains out while they’re on the road. While they could definitely use a powerbank to address that need, a way to set the phone on “Power Saver” mode should be in order.

HTC One M8 users have also noted the lack of an “Extreme Power Saving” mode on the phone, which was enjoyed on other models. “Doze” might help address this, and help keep the battery from draining too fast, as “Doze” practically shuts off all the battery-draining background processes that sap up a device’s battery. Only when crucial files come in, or the user picks up the phone and uses it, will the phone wake up.

Thus, it is, indeed, a better call for HTC to give the HTC One M8 an “upgrade leap,” as it looks like features of the Android M will address major flaws on the device.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Fans In Uproar Over Kit Harington’s Arrival In Belfast, Ireland, (PHOTO), Highlight Hollywood News

What’s the saying? A Picture is worth a thousand words?  37 days after Lord Jon Snow died on HBO’s massive hit series “Game of Thrones,” rumors are flying fast and furiously that Kit Harington has returned to Belfast. Well, okay, more than just rumors, there’s a photo courtesy WoTW that shows Kit going through the Belfast Airport, head down, hair LONG!

The picture is the biggest indication that Kit will still play a role in GoT despite Jon Snow seemingly stabbed to death by his mates in the Night’s Watch.  Fans who bumped into Harington claimed that he refused to take pictures because he “wasn’t allowed”.

Now, Kit previously said, “I had a sit-down with Dan (Weiss) and David (Benioff), we did the Tony Soprano walk (letting an actor know they’re being whacked). And they said, ‘Look, you’re gone, it’s done.’”

So, does Jon Snow really know nothing?  Time will tell.  Stay tuned! Photo below!

Why Doesn’t the Game of Thrones Cast Read the Books?

Only a few Game of Thrones cast members have read the books the show is based on, the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, and now it seems we may know why. Iain Glen, who portrays the oft-exiled knight Ser Jorah Mormont on the show, says the decision not to read actually comes from higher up. Specifically, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss.

“I don’t read the books,” Glen admits to the Radio Times. “I read the first one when they gave me the job, just to get a feel from it and a synopsis breakdown of what was going to happen to the character. But beyond that, the writers themselves, David and Dan, they didn’t particularly want actors coming to the scripts from the book, always suggesting what the book did and how it was different —I could see the glazed look in their eyes when that happened. They were quite happy for us to move forward and treat them as screenplays with no history, so that’s the reason why I only ever read the first novel.”

We can definitely see where Benioff and Weiss are coming from here. Having actors tell them what’s going to happen to their characters would get old real fast. It’s interesting that this is just coming out now though, since Season 6 will be surpassing the material in the books pretty much all season. So even if the actors did read the books now, they’re not going to gain much insight from them!
